"Explorations of light and form - empty bowls and other vessels in particular fascinate me as a subject matter. I embrace imperfections - my vessels are never shiny and  new - old, chipped, handmade, and weathered are infinitely more interesting to me. Often the backgrounds of the paintings have a sense of age and imperfection as well as the subjects; peeling paint, layers of age".
