Do you think in pink?

There’s something quietly uplifting about pink, especially when it’s not the polished, bubble-gum kind. Pink Thoughts explores an earthy, lived-in version of the colour; a layered pink blush softened with neutrals, grounded by warmth, weathered and aged, and touched with light.

For me, this painting is about gentle optimism. It comes from calm moments, reflections, and complex rich colour. I love how pink can shift a room’s mood without overpowering it. It softens, lifts, and adds a sense of warmth that feels joyful, modern and timeless.

Pink Thoughts reminds me that colour doesn’t have to shout to make an impact. Sometimes it’s the quiet tones, the ones that have “lived a life”, they stand back a little - that make you feel something and stay with you the longest.

Look closely and you’ll find subtle marks and faint shapes embedded within the layers — traces of movement and time that add depth and a sense of quiet history. These small details invite a closer look, hinting at the stories beneath the surface.

Pink Thoughts is part of a series of paintings called 'Field Notes' that I'm slowly working on (more coming soon).

Pink Thoughts: A meditation in pink, soft, grounded, and full of history.
