Stories in Silence: Imperfect Vessels and Fading Layers
My still life paintings explore the beauty of light, form, and imperfection. I’m inspired by old, handmade bowls and vessels: weathered, chipped, and rich with history. Each piece celebrates authenticity, embracing textures that tell stories of age and use. Rather than shiny and new, I find character in the worn and weathered. The backgrounds often echo this sense of history, featuring peeling paint, layered surfaces, and subtle marks of age. These elements combine to create art that feels timeless, soulful, and deeply connected to the past.
