Karin Cutler ART X Echora
I am excited to announce a new collaboration in the beautiful Northern Rivers area with my close friends Donna and Scott, who have recently swung open the doors to their new simply, natural lifestyle store and gallery, Echora.
Set against a backdrop of sugarcane fields and the statuesque peak of Mount Warning, Echora is an inviting sanctuary in the eclectic semi-industrial town of Murwillumbah, a short walk south across the river from the main part of the town.
Positioned on the corner of Prospero and River streets, Echora inhabits what was once the local organic butcher shop and in their efforts to restore the space, the owners Donna and Scott focused on letting its past shine through. Peeled back walls and re-purposed timber allude to another lifetime, in a textural collage of exposed brick and peeling paint; textures that are echoed in my abstract pieces.
I couldn't be more enraptured by the space as it truly compliments my paintings in a dance of textures and colour palette that is moody yet warm and inviting.
I have a large selection of abstract and still life paintings available to view and purchase in the store. My ocean inspired abstract pieces currently displayed in the gallery space at the rear of the store are a nod to the coastal lifestyle of the Northern Rivers area.
Winding through the sugarcane fields toward Wollumbin/Mt Warning caldera, I highly recommend a day-trip here if you're visiting the region. Echora is only a 4 minute drive from the Tweed Regional Gallery and Margaret Olley Centre.
